If you want them to talk, give them a story.
The best part of any event is the stories that come out of it. But the best events begin with one. Summer cookouts, birthday parties, holiday parties, Bravo watch parties, neighborhood watch parties — if you're going to tell a story, why not commit to it?
Here's a few of the worlds I've built.
Some people like ghosts and goblins. Others like skeletons and graveyards. For this client, I built a crime scene — the story of two sisters on a camping trip, neither of whom ever came back.

About
The plan was Portugal. Then it wasn't. We got married in a friend's backyard instead — and somewhere in the scramble, an idea took over: what if the wedding was still Portugal, just relocated? So I built Portichigan. A whole invented nation, population: the guest list. It had a crest, a census, national foods (Portuguese, obviously), and its own signature cocktail — a Port and tonic. The other option at the bar was an old fashioned with smoked cherry bitters, a nod to the actual state we were standing in. The invitations went out in blue and white, patterned after Portuguese azulejo tiles. I built a full tourism website for it — hotels, restaurants, things to do, directions to the "capital." People used it to plan their trip to my wedding.
That's the instinct behind everything here. Not a theme slapped onto a party, but a whole world built underneath it — one with its own facts, its own food, its own rules — so that showing up feels like visiting somewhere real.
By day, I'm a Creative Director and copywriter with over a decade of telling stories for some of the world's biggest brands. I'm also a published short story writer. Storied Events brings together my love of storytelling, celebrations, and making shared history.
Let's make some history together.
